What is the Fairview Homestead Association?

The Fairview Homestead Association was formed in 2007 with the purpose of protecting Fairview from demolition and restoring it to a safe standard, so that visitors to the valley and anyone interested in the history of the community can appreciate what life was like when Mangrove Creek was a flourishing community.  The Association is a not-for-profit charitable, managed by a Committee of dedicated volunteers and supported by the ‘Friends of Fairview’, a community comprising local residents, descendants of the families who once worked the land at Mangrove Creek as well as historians and individuals interested in the heritage of the Valley.

What do we want to do?

We plan to preserve the history of Fairview and its community, so that people interested in learning about this significant social and cultural part of the Central Coast history can do so when visiting the Valley and potentially even via a digital experience.  We also plan to establish a presence in the new Mangrove Mountain Visitor’s Information Centre.

You can become a part of the battle to save this historic and heritage homestead.

We hope you enjoy browsing through the pages of this site but we also hope that you will decide to participate as a member of this association. A large member base will give you a voice and the Association more influence with Central Coast Council to preserve the history of Fairview and Mangrove Creek, as well as maintaining tha ability of the general public to visit the site, the cemetery in their magnificent setting.
