There is hope yet

Those conditions prevented the establishment of a museum on site and also denied us the right to conduct visitation programs, the latter being to conduct small number tours by schools, retirement village residents and similar small groups. The aim of this was firstly to make the site available for interested parties without risking the water quality in the catchment area whilst also raising funds for ongoing maintenance of the heritage listed Homestead.

The restrictions imposed by Council effectively put us in contravention of our tax deductible status with the ATO and prevented us from accepting further donations.

Our recent discussions with Council have been well received at senior levels and we are currently awaiting advice on the submission of a request to vary the existing development approval, to encompass the matters outlined above.

Without trying to presume approval of our request, the future of Fairview Homestead is looking much better.

Watch this site for further news.

You can become a part of the battle to save this historic and heritage homestead from oblivion.

We hope you enjoy browsing through the pages of this site but we also hope that you will decide to participate as a member of this association. A large member base will give us much needed muscle to influence Central Coast Council to allow the inclusion of a museum in the Homestead as well as allowing a visitation programme for school history excursions, visits by retirement villages and more.
